Housed within a 40,000sqft ex-council building, the Woodmill offers a variety of different studio spaces to suit a diverse range of working practices. Supporting early career artists with the provision of affordable studios the Woodmill operates as a space for critical and practical development.

Studio artists are engaged in the life and ongoing activities of the project and its community and assist in building the facilities required to meet their needs. Woodwork and casting workshops are currently available in conjunction with a high quality project space, open to the public, which offers the opportunity to develop new works and collaborations alongside the main exhibition programme.

The Woodmill also offers a large studio, free of charge, for 2 week – 3 month long residencies to national and international based artists. Artists based within London are also accepted to help facilitate interesting collaborations and projects that engage the Woodmill community. All residencies culminate in a public exhibition or event held in one or more of the Woodmill’s three exhibition spaces.
